This 16th century aqueduct passes above the Palancia River and forms part of the Main Canal System of Sagunto. It remains operational, helping to irrigate the land on both sides of the river. It is believed that it was built upon the remains of a similar Roman structure. The aqueduct is formed by 12 arches of different styles (including semi-circular arches, diminished arches and pointed arches). The arches are very wide and reinforced with buttresses in certain points to mitigate the force of water.
